A failed kidnapping lands its victim in the hands of a swindling couple who decide to keep the boy for their own. Several years later, our young hero, roughly ten years of age, earns money for his surrogate parents by singing on street corners. When finally found by his true mother, she agrees to take in her son's chum too. Trouble then starts, the boys' old guardians not willing to let go of their little slaves without a payoff.
